STEP 3: COUNCIL

What happens next?

Once you’ve messaged us about a dog you’d like to meet, we’ll contact you to arrange a visit if we think there is a potential match.

If the visit goes well and you’d like to proceed with the adoption, we’ll give you an application form to complete.

If you live in Hamilton, we’ll also do a property inspection to make sure you can safely keep a dog. If you live outside the city, you’ll have to send photos or a video of your property to us.

Once the checks are complete, we’ll offer you the dog. You will need to bring a dog collar with you, and we will give you a free 3kg bag of Blackhawk food.
