Step 1: You

If you don’t think you should have been given a parking ticket, you can appeal against it within 28 days from the date the ticket was issued.

An appeal needs to be made in writing and received by us on or before the last day for payment. You must have a valid reason to dispute a parking ticket.

Fines vary depending on the type of infringement and length of time overstayed. As examples only, overdue parking starts at $12 and can go to over $57 depending on the length of time, while parking in a mobility parking space without authorisation has a fine of $150.

Our parking officers can also issue infringements for expired certificates of fitness (heavy motor vehicles), warrants of fitness and registrations. These fees range from $200 to $600

All parking fees are set by Government not by Council.

Step 3: Council

Our parking team will assess your appeal and will respond to advise you, one way or the other, in writing within 10 working days.
