Step 1: You

What you need to know

An event permit ensures both your event and the safety of attendees is prioritised. You need a permit to host an event in a public park or space in Hamilton, especially when having any of the below:

  • inflatables e.g. bouncy castle
  • amusement devices
  • food for sale, free or fundraising
  • amplified sound e.g PA system
  • music
  • marquee
  • stage
  • road closure.

Until you receive a hire agreement or letter of confirmation your request is provisional and cannot be treated as confirmed. There will be a fee associated with your park booking, dependent on length of booking and park but you will be advised in the approval letter by the Parks Use Administrator.​

What to expect from us

Our parks administrator will be in touch to confirm the date you've requested is available, make you aware of any fees and confirm any other details before confirming your booking.
