A note from Jorja and Kennedy
Our names are Jorja and Kennedy McCarthy. Like many children, we have had pets who have passed away or who have gone missing and not returned home.
We think all children who have lost a pet should have somewhere special they can go to remember them, because pets are family too. So, we asked Hamilton City Council to create a Rainbow Bridge.
We hope by visiting this Rainbow Bridge you can feel close to your pets again and show them they are still loved.
In loving memory of our cats Huntress, Apollo and Luna.
Step 1: You
What you need to know
While we haven’t built an actual bridge, we’re using the fence at Minogue Dog Park to create a metaphoric Rainbow Bridge for Hamiltonians to remember their cats, dogs, bunnies or any special pets. You can purchase a plaque from Vivid Images to add to the memorial space. We hope visiting our version of the Rainbow Bridge becomes a special place for all to remember their pets.
There are four different types of plaques to choose from. Each option includes the cost of design, print and hinge rings to attach to the fence.
1. A5 rainbow plaque - $46.50 +GST
*A5 plaques can fit two lines of text, with a maximum character limit of 47 characters per line.
2. A5 black plaque - $46.50 +GST

Step 2: You
Complete this form with the details to go on your plaque.
Step 3: Vivid Images
What happens next:
Once you’ve completed the form, it will be sent to Vivid Images, a local Hamilton printing company, and they will be in contact with you about your plaque.
Payment will be handled by Vivid Images on order confirmation. Plaques will need to be picked up at Vivid Images (11 Quail Place, Hamilton Lake) and installed by you at the Rainbow Bridge at Minogue Dog Park. These should be installed so the plaque is on the outside of the fence and ideally grouped with the other plaques as we build a bridge of plaques around the fence line.
Please note: Hamilton City Council is not responsible for the behaviour of others and damage to any plaques due to vandalism is the responsibility of the plaque owner to remedy. Plaques can remain on the fence while condition of plaque remain legible and safely attached to the fence. Plaques will be removed if they fail to satisfy these criteria.
