Mayoral and East Ward Candidate Tim Macindoe

About Tim

Candidate Statement

Hamilton Council repeatedly fails to balance the books. City debt is now well over $1 billion, with crippling interest payments.

Many costs are essential to fund vital infrastructure for our growing city, while maintaining core services that make Hamilton appealing (including libraries, pools, parks and footpaths).

But wasteful spending must be eliminated to ease your rates burden and tackle our alarming debt.

Since my election as a councillor last year, I've been in a minority trying to rein in council spending and stop unwanted projects such as speed bumps and inlane bus stops, but we've been outvoted by the majority.

I want to lead change to a leaner, more efficient council, making greater use of Information Technology, and a return to two hours free CBD parking.

Please rank Tim Macindoe number one, and support candidates in your ward who share my concerns and priorities to secure a majority this October.
