In May 2025, Hamilton City and Waikato District Councils agreed to form a publicly owned, Council-controlled Organisation (CCO) to deliver water services across Hamilton city and Waikato district. The CCO, IAWAI - Flowing Waters, will manage 90,700 water connections for households and businesses. On our behalf, it will invest around $3.3 billion on water infrastructure over the next decade.
