Pole and cross-street banners

We have pole banner and cross-street banner space available to book for Hamilton events and community groups. The banner spaces include Grey Street, Victoria Street North, Wairere Drive and Victoria Street South.

Bookings are subject to demand and are confirmed at the Council's discretion. If your preferred dates are unavailable, we can discuss alternative arrangements.

What you need to do

  • Submit your booking request two months in advance of your installation start date.
  • Upload your banner artwork and get approval from us prior to printing and installation.
  • Pay the design, printing, installation and removal costs of the cross-street or pole banner.
  • Contact the Council approved installer three weeks prior to installation. No other supplier can install or remove banners unless you have prior permission from Council.

What Council does 

  • We provide the banner booking free of charge and will confirm your booking within 3-5 working days.
  • We recommend the below suppliers for independent printing, installation and removal service who you can contact directly to source cost estimates. We are not responsible for these costs.

Terms and conditions


The event organiser/client is responsible for booking their banner installation with the suppliers recommended on the booking form.


Priority will be given to signage which promotes community events or activities in Hamilton.


A maximum of two cross street banner sites can be booked for any event at any one time.


Event organisers/clients can book a combination of pole banners and cross street banners for the same event.


The maximum installation period for a cross street banner is 30 days.
The maximum installation period for a pole banner is 60 days.


Booking requests need to be completed at least four weeks before preferred install date.


All booking requests need to go through the online booking form.


Public Liability Insurance is covered by Hamilton City Council.


To protect the banners, it is recommended to have it vented.


If the cross street banner needs to be removed by the Council due to endangerment to traffic the cost is the responsibility of the user of the site.
