Significant change in circumstances
This applies to food businesses operating under a food control plan or a national programme.

When you registered your food business, you provided specific information about how your business operates. Under the Food Act 2014, the operator of a food business must notify the registration authority in writing if a significant change in circumstances occurs.

What is considered a significant change?
A significant change in circumstances includes any change to:

• The name of the operator, including a change of operator
• The trading name of the food business
• The business address
• The physical or electronic address of the operator
• The physical address or location of the food business, or the nominated home base
• The name, position, or designation of the person responsible for day-to-day management of the plan
• The scope of the plan, including changes to the type of food, the nature of the business, or trading operations
• The name of the nominated verifier.
