EV charging stations

Travelling further afield? Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency provides free ‘real-time’ information about the availability of public charging points around New Zealand through their live database EVRoam – see their Journey Planner EV charging points map.

Supporting EV use in Hamilton

We choose to promote sustainable travel options where possible and enable emerging transport technologies. We’ve partnered with WEL Networks, who have an established electricity distribution network, and Better NZ Trust to discuss, share and develop ways in which we can promote EVsin Hamilton.

To help understand the impacts of electric vehicles and how they will affect our electricity network, we’re working with WEL Networks to progressively provide charging stations in key locations around the city and destination locations.

Our work is ongoing around electric vehicles, so we’ll keep you up to date on this page about what’s happening next.

See Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency’s information on New Zealand’s electric vehicles programme.
