This pathway passes through changing scenery in a relatively short time. A shared pathway for both bikers and walkers, you can take it from the Ferrybank river ride and connect to the on-road cycle lanes on Ulster Street.

People of all ages and fitness who want a peaceful wander through inner city native bushland with a stream along side, with friends and family.

If biking, please note there is a steep hill with a ‘please dismount’ sign from Ulster Street.

How to walk and bike safely

You’ll find an extensive network of walking, scooting and biking paths across parks, through gullies, alongside the Waikato River, and on our roads.

This network helps make Hamilton a more attractive and liveable city for those who want to be healthier and more active.

Commuters, families, schoolkids, and leisurely walkers travel the network daily, but everyone needs to follow some basic rules to travel safely on our shared paths:

1. Biking is allowed on designated routes across some parks.

2. Whether you are biking or walking, please share the routes by always looking out for each other.

3. Walkers should stay left, especially on corners, so people on bikes can pass safely.

4. All park routes intended for biking are for recreational biking only. Any biking involving speed on these routes is not permitted.

5. When biking, give ample and friendly warning when approaching walkers from behind by ringing your bell or calling out to signal your approach.
