A building warrant of fitness (BWoF) is a statement from a building owner that the building’s life safety systems (called specified systems) have been maintained and checked for the previous 12 months.

If you’re a building owner, you’ll need to renew your BWoF every 12 months. 

Your BWoF must:

  • be renewed annually on the anniversary of the compliance schedule issue date
  • be supplied annually to us before the expiry of the previous BWoF
  • be publicly displayed in the building in its up-to-date form.
