Before you request a refund, remission or special assessment
Please first refer to the relevant section of the applicable Development Contributions Policy:

- Section 17 of Council’s Development Contributions Policy: ‘Special Assessment’.
Step 1- You
In the first instance, please refer to Schedule 7 Map 9 of the development contributions policy to confirm the development lies within the central city area.
Refer to section 18 of the Policy for full remission criteria and further information.
Central city remission
At Council’s sole discretion developments in the central city may be eligible for a 50% remission subject to:
a) engagement with the Urban Design Advisory Panel, and
b) final Lifemark 4‐star certification for the residential components of the development.
High rise remission
Subject to the criteria in the central city remission above, developments in the central city with six or more storeys will pay no development contributions.
For the purpose of calculating eligibility for the remission, the following do not count as storeys:
a) below grade basement levels
b) mezzanine floors, rooftop terraces or any other structure with gross floor area less than 60% of the gross floor area of the first floor of the building
c) areas not included in the definition of gross floor area as set out in provision 6.24 of the policy.
