Hamilton Kirikiriroa will come together again to celebrate at the city’s free Waitangi Day Festival, returning for its second year with more activities and an expanded festival footprint across the central city.
Following the success of last year’s event, the festival will take place across a range of connected riverside locations, stretching along the Waikato Awa and through Ferrybank Reserve (Kirikiriroa Reserve), with activities also happening at Te Whare Taonga o Waikato Museum & Gallery – creating multiple spaces for the community to gather, reflect, and celebrate.
Alongside the performance programme, the festival will offer a wide range of experiences for all ages, including a vibrant marketplace, food trucks, children’s entertainment, cultural art tours, and family friendly activities. Free activities will also be available from 10am at the Museum, including Exscite entry, crafts, and workshops.
The Festival provides an opportunity for the community to connect and celebrate another year of continued growth and partnership between community, local businesses, and Maaori that make Hamilton truly special.
Mark your calendars, tell your friends, and get ready for an event you won’t want to miss!
We can’t wait to see you there!
