Greenfield residential capacity

This dashboard shows the estimated housing capacity for each greenfield growth area in Hamilton. It is measured in the number of homes that could be built in that area. You can also see when we think housing will be built in each area. A green area has all the infrastructure it needs to be developed now, while areas that are orange or red need infrastructure like roading or water pipes to be built before housing can be.   

We estimate the number of homes by using information from developers on what they intend to do as well as the Operative District Plan rules. It is important to note that all capacity figures are estimates and are subject to change.  

We update this information regularly to remove land once it has been developed, to reflect changes to the District Plan or when developer plans change.
