The impacts on the roadway and traffic are caused by school kids and their parents. As a first principle the school should be footing the bill not the council, and providing land to execute the changes as needed.
All that aside creating a pickup loop using Bond St wide margins as the entry, exiting through and Bains James & Frances Sts would make better sense. Raised speed bumps in the road are anathema. NZTA won't fund them any more, which should be your warning. Council will have to pay more to take all those out in future. |

Its a relatively low priority issue, and creating drop-off zone width by removing parking needn't involve losing large numbers of parks.

Raised speed bumps/platforms/crossings are a curse on every vehicle at all times, even when properly constructed - and so few are. (Watts profile my Aunt!) Council will have to pay to take them out again in a few years. If you don't care about the maintenance on vehicles and the frustration and anger drivers have, at least take pity on the adjacent residents who have to put up with the added traffic noise, especially those loose steel parts on trucks & trailers at 2:00 am!
