Which option for on-street short-stay parking in the central city do you support?
Option 1: Two hours free (Council’s preferred option)
Help us understand the reason for your response:
In recent years, I have ceased coming into the central city for a number of reasons including the removal of the free parking for two hours. Having said that, the biggest disincentive is the lack of mobility parking available and the lack of anything that would entice me to go. There's nothing happening in the central city that I can not find elsewhere which is easier to get to.
Do you support Council’s proposal to increase the entry fee for non-Hamiltonians aged 16 and over to enter the enclosed areas at Hamilton Gardens to $27.50 from October 2026?
No
Help us understand the reason for your response:
My main problem with this proposal is the rather odd amount. I would think that an increase of $5 or $10 would illicit less resistance. I suspect that people's attention to the increase would less if the increase was in even dollar amounts rather than making them question why the increase of $7.50.
Do you support the proposed Planning Guidance/Urban and Spatial Planning fees and charges?
In part, but I have suggestions
Help us understand the reason for your response:
As long as the changes are easily explained and are value for money
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
No, these are my own personal views
