This will encourage more people into the CBD and help boost the economy in the central city and hopefully reduce the number of businesses that are closing down due to lack of people shopping in the city especially for the residents who live south of the CBD who like me don’t want to drive to either chartwell or the base to do specialised shopping when the same shops are already in the city and centreplace

I believe non Hamilton residents should stay at the $20 entry but tourists especially bus loads should pay a higher price. If you were to raise the non Hamilton entry you may see less non tourists coming through the gate because of the price but with tourists they will be happy to pay $27.50 as generally they have the financial capacity to pay this price. I would rather see the price stay at $20 for New Zealand residents. Having travelled overseas and had to pay to enter a particular tourist attraction I’m quite happy to pay that price as it’s usually one off fee but New Zealanders on a whole would not pay that a couple of times a year to see the new enclosed gardens as they open. I know I wouldn’t. As one of the best gardens in the world we should be encouraging kiwis to see them rather than discourage
