| Which option for on-street short-stay parking in the central city do you support? |
Option 1: Two hours free (Council’s preferred option)
|
| Help us understand the reason for your response: |
The central city needs some support. If we can encourage more people to come to central city they may spend more. If people spend more the value of commercial properties are more likely to increase and the rates intake would increase more than the $750,000 in the long term. The $750,000 is a short term opportunity cost.

| Do you support Council’s proposal to increase the entry fee for non-Hamiltonians aged 16 and over to enter the enclosed areas at Hamilton Gardens to $27.50 from October 2026? |
In part, but I have suggestions
|
| Help us understand the reason for your response: |
The increase should be more gradual like 50c or $1. We have managed for decades without any charge. Now that we are making it a genuine attraction let’s not overdo the charge. When people come to the gardens they go away with positive stories and experience.
Let’s create more package deals that start with the gardens and then a river cruise and lunch. Have options for a zoo and gardens pass for visitors. Let’s work with other councils to include their council attractions too. |
| Do you support the proposed Planning Guidance/Urban and Spatial Planning fees and charges? |
Yes (Council's preferred option)
|
| Help us understand the reason for your response: |
It looks like the increases are minor and necessary.

| Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation? |
