I don't see any advantage other than cost savings.

I think district and city councils have two very different but important roles. I'm concerned that merging these would be detrimental.
I think smaller towns like in Waipa and Hamilton City have very different needs, I'm concerned that combining councils would be detrimental to either/both. |
