Thinking about potential mergers with other councils, what, if any, opportunities do you see?
Opportunity to align boundaries with resource catchments e.g. Waikato and Waipa catchment; and separate Hauraki and Coromandel catchment.
Thinking about potential mergers with other councils, what, if any, concerns do you have?
Boundaries that split resource management units/ catchments - creating inefficiency and management risks. Proportional community voices are at risk e.g. the loudest, squeckiest wheel gets the attention rather than biggest impact for less cost.
Are you giving feedback on behalf of an organisation?
