I see the opportunity for better growth and alignment on services for growth.
I see better investment in services and facilities that people want but that provide a service to the region |
| Thinking about potential mergers with other councils, what, if any, concerns do you have? |
I have concerns around the size of the mergers, especially the third option. The needs and wants of Hamilton, waipa and Waikato and different to those in more rural regions.
The coromandal especially has huge resilience issues that are not Hamilton rate payers to own. If assets are moved into a shared service agreement (similar to Iawai) these assets need to be handed over in better condition than they are now |
