About Murray

Murray joined Council in April 2020 as Chief Information Officer and became Customer, Technology and Transformation General Manager a year later.

His job is to translate Council's aspirations into a transformation strategy programme, incorporating digital, technology, processes, customer and people strategies.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in the technology, banking, insurance, local government and telecommunications industries in New Zealand and Australia.

Before joining Council, he was Chief Information Officer for one of Australia’s largest water businesses, responsible for supplying water to almost three million people.
