The Economic Development Committee provides oversight for the city’s economic agenda and for investment opportunities consistent with Council’s vision.

Chair's Report –
That the Economic Development Committee receives the report.
General Manager’s Report –
To inform the Economic Development Committee on the updated economic development agenda for the new triennium.
External Agencies and CCO Reporting –
To inform the Economic Development Committee on matters relating to external agencies and Council-controlled organisations (CCOs), including 6-monthly and annual reports and to seek the Economic Development Committee’s endorsement of the draft Statement of Intent for the year to 31 December 2023 for Civic Financial Services.
Strategic and General Update –
To inform the Economic Development Committee of both strategic matters and general updates that staff want to bring to Members’ attention, but that do not warrant a separate report or require decisions to be made.
Strategic Property Update - May 2023 –
To inform the Economic Development Committee of the Celebrating Age Centre development project, and the financial performance and position of the Municipal Endowment Fund as at 31 March 2023 (Q3 2022/23 FY).
Policy Review – Sale and Disposal of Council Land Policy 2023 –
To seek a recommendation from the Economic Development Committee to the Council to approve the revised Sale of Council Land Policy.
Policy Review - Business Improvement District (BID) Policy –
To seek a recommendation from the Economic Development Committee to the Council to approve the revised Business Improvement District Policy.
Major Event Sponsorship Fund - recommendations
for approval 2023/24 –
To seek the Economic Development Committee’s approval of events to be funded by the 2023-2024 major event sponsorship fund, following the application and management recommendation process undertaken in March and April 2023 and to provide the Economic Development Committee with a summary of 2022-2023 major event sponsorship fund activity and confirms the year end budget result.
