At the beginning of each Council or committee meeting, up to 30 minutes is available for the public (individuals or groups) to present on a matter that is on the meeting’s agenda. Each individual or group is allowed up to five minutes to speak. 

Speakers are listed on a first come, first served basis, and as many speakers as possible will be heard within the allocated 30 minutes.

Note: Your name, a summary of what you say and anything you distribute at the meeting will be included in the minutes and made available online, as well as livestreamed and included on our YouTube channel.

The governance structure including Council and Committees, broadly,  provides leadership and advocacy on behalf of the people of Hamilton. This includes making decisions on the vision for our city and specific powers granted under the Local Government Act 2002.
