The Finance Committee:
- sets the direction of Council’s financial strategy
- monitors the financial strategy and its performance against the Long-Term Plan and Annual Plan
- makes decisions on financial matters within its delegations
- makes recommendations to Council on matters outside its delegations
- approves operating expenditure in line with the Long-Term or Annual Plan
- has oversight of policies including those relating to rating and rates remissions.
