The Infrastructure and Transport Committee is responsible for guiding and monitoring the core infrastructure and services in particular relating to transport, three waters and waste management, to meet the current and future needs of the city and to enhance the wellbeing of its communities and much more.

The Infrastructure and Transport Committee:
- Provides direction on strategic priorities and resourcing for core infrastructure aligned to city development and oversight of operational projects and services associated with those activities.
- Develops policy, approves core-infrastructure related operational strategies and plans and monitors their implementation.
- Receives and considers presentations and reports from stakeholders, government departments, organisations and interest groups on core infrastructure and associated services and wellbeing issues and opportunities.
- Provides direction regarding Council's involvement in regional alliances, plans, initiatives and forums for joint infrastructure and shared services (for example Regional Transport Committee).
