A raahui placed over the Mangakootukutuku gully system has been lifted from 8am today, Friday 23 December.
A ceremony was held on the banks of the Mangakootukutuku Stream off Bruce Avenue with representatives from mana whenua, who said karakia (prayer) over the waterway.
The raahui was put in place on Monday 28 November after a wastewater line collapsed following heavy rainfall, which resulted in an overflow on nearby Normandy Avenue.
