Jabali

Exciting news from the zoo

Jabali, a nearly two-year-old giraffe from Auckland Zoo, has joined their bachelor herd. Jabali is known for his inquisitive, calm, and trusting nature, making him a delightful addition to the Hamilton Zoo family. Since his arrival, Jabali has been settling in well with the two other giraffes, discovering his new surroundings and getting to know his herd mates. Hamilton Zoo plays a vital role in a regionally managed program by providing a home for non-breeding male giraffes. Hamilton Zoo takes great pride in supporting this initiative and contributing to conservation efforts.

Now is the perfect time to visit and see Jabali as he explores his new home at Hamilton Zoo. Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to learn more about these magnificent animals and the crucial work being done to protect them.

Let fun take flight at Minogue Park

If you’re keen for the kids to burn off some energy, then make sure you swing by the Minogue Park destination playground in Forest Lake. Situated in a popular sports park which includes netball courts and a full-length BMX track, the playground features sand and water play, in-ground trampolines, a scooter track and more. A highlight is bound to be the playground’s two flying foxes, which are now back in action following recent repairs.
