Journey back through the fossil finds exhibition

Discover the fossils that shaped Waikato’s prehistoric past. From shifting landmasses, and changing climates, to the powerful geological forces that have shaped our region. Learn the art of weaving

Immerse yourself in the art of weaving through this guided, step-by-step raranga class. You will learn about harakeke and how to weave simple items while following tikanga. Create hearts, fish, fantails, and putiputi (flowers) and display at home for family and friends to admire.

The Time Traveller’s Guide to Hamilton Gardens

Would you believe one of Hamilton's major visitor attractions was once a dump site for rubbish? The story of how Hamilton Gardens became a unique museum of humanity, showcasing gardens from ancient Egypt to the surreal future is told on screen. Travel backwards and forwards through each of the gardens and discover what makes our gardens one of the greatest in the world.

Let your imagination roam free at Aurora Playground

Discover Hamilton’s newest play space, Aurora Playground. Inspired by its celestial name, the design celebrates space and traditional Maaori star navigation. It includes swings, a seesaw, flying fox, stepping logs and more, all woven with elements of Maaori legends and storytelling – creating an imaginative, inclusive playground for children of all ages to explore.
