A section of the Western Rail Trail near Innes Common will be closed from next Monday (6 July) while arborists work on a stand of gum trees.
One of the trees in the stand fell across the path and railway line on Tuesday 23 June. Hamilton City Council contractors removed the fallen tree last week and will now start on pruning and maintenance work. This will include removing some trees.
The path will be closed to enable the contractors to safely complete the work, which is expected to be finished within a week.
Rail trail users can detour along Lake Domain Dr.
